Verification of truth
Confirmation is verification that something is true, accurate, or settled: We're waiting for confirmation of the booking, The blood test was confirmation of what we already suspected.
In Christianity, confirmation is a rite admitting a baptized person to full church membership, typically in adolescence.
The ritual confirms the faith commitment made at baptism.
