humanism
People over gods
Humanism is a philosophical stance that emphasizes human values, reason, and dignity over supernatural or divine authority.
The term covers various movements that place humanity at the center of ethical and intellectual life: secular humanism rejects religious frameworks, literary humanism values classical education.
In art criticism, humanism refers to focus on human subjects and concerns rather than abstract or spiritual themes. (Capitalized Humanism often refers specifically to Renaissance intellectual movement.)
