reef shark
Tropical lagoon hunter
Reef sharks are medium-sized sharks that inhabit coral reefs and nearby waters in tropical oceans.
Several species carry the name, including blacktip, whitetip, and grey reef sharks.
They patrol shallow waters, rarely threatening humans despite their proximity to divers and snorkelers: We spotted a reef shark gliding over the coral.
