porbeagle

Swift Atlantic shark

A porbeagle is a large shark of the North Atlantic and southern oceans, related to the great white but smaller and not dangerous to humans.

It has a stout body and pointed snout, prized by some fisheries for its meat.

The name may derive from Cornish dialect, combining "porpoise" and "beagle."
