caudal
Toward the rear
Caudal means of or relating to the tail, or situated near the tail end of the body.
The term appears in anatomy and zoology to describe position: a caudal fin is at the rear of a fish, caudal vertebrae form the tail.
In medical contexts, caudal indicates toward the lower spine or posterior: a caudal injection targets nerves near the tailbone.
