salmon shark
Cold-water apex fish
A salmon shark is a large, powerful shark found in cold North Pacific waters, named for its predation on salmon.
It resembles a smaller, stockier version of the great white shark and can regulate its body temperature, allowing it to thrive in frigid seas.
Salmon sharks congregate near river mouths during salmon runs.
