bull shark

Freshwater-tolerant apex fish

A bull shark is a large, aggressive shark found in warm coastal waters worldwide.

Unlike most sharks, bull sharks tolerate fresh water and frequently enter rivers, sometimes traveling hundreds of miles inland.

They are responsible for many attacks on humans, partly because they favor shallow waters where people swim.

Bull sharks have been spotted as far up the Mississippi as Illinois.
