implication
What's left unsaid
An implication is something suggested without being stated directly.
If someone says I hope you'll be more careful next time, the implication is that you weren't careful before.
The word also names the relationship between ideas where one necessarily follows from another: The implications of the new policy weren't fully understood.
To be implicated in something is to be shown as involved, usually in wrongdoing.
