streams
Brooks and rivulets
Streams are bodies of water that flow continuously in a channel, smaller than rivers but following the same principle of moving from higher to lower ground.
The word extends naturally to any continuous flow: a stream of consciousness, a stream of data, a stream of visitors.
In computing, streaming refers to transmitting or receiving media content continuously rather than downloading it completely before playback.
To stream is to flow steadily or to broadcast content this way: I streamed the game last night.
