congressmen

Elected federal lawmakers

Congressmen is the plural of congressman, referring to male members of a congress, particularly the United States Congress.

While congressman can technically apply to members of either the Senate or House of Representatives, it most commonly designates House members, with senators typically called by that title instead.

The term has increasingly given way to the gender-neutral congresspeople or members of Congress in formal contexts, though congressmen remains common when referring specifically to male representatives.
