House of Commons
Parliament's elected body
The House of Commons is the elected lower chamber of the British Parliament, where members of Parliament (MPs) debate legislation and hold the government accountable.
Despite being called "lower," it holds more political power than the House of Lords.
Canada, and historically other Commonwealth nations, have similar bodies by the same name: The bill passed the House of Commons last night.
