leaders
Those in charge
Leaders are people who guide, direct, or command others—whether formally through position or informally through influence.
The word applies across contexts: political leaders, business leaders, community leaders, thought leaders.
A leader can head an organization or simply walk at the front of a group: She was the leader on the hiking trail.
In competitions, the leader holds first place.
Leader also names physical things that lead: a fishing leader connects line to hook; a leader in printing is a row of dots guiding the eye across a page.
