Ireland
Atlantic island nation
Ireland is an island in the North Atlantic, west of Great Britain.
The term usually refers to the Republic of Ireland, which occupies most of the island, though Northern Ireland—part of the United Kingdom—shares the landmass.
Irish culture, literature, and diaspora have outsized global influence.
My grandparents emigrated from Ireland during the famine.
