Canterbury
English pilgrimage destination
Canterbury is a historic city in southeastern England, site of Canterbury Cathedral and the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury, head of the Church of England.
Chaucer's *Canterbury Tales* follows pilgrims traveling there.
The name appears in various compounds: a canterbury is a stand for holding sheet music or magazines, and Canterbury lamb refers to New Zealand lamb exports.
