Riverdance
Irish step spectacular
Riverdance is an Irish step-dancing theatrical show that became a global phenomenon after its 1994 debut.
The name now broadly describes the distinctive style of rapid, precise footwork performed with a rigid upper body, or any imitation of it: She did a little Riverdance at the party.
The show transformed Irish dance from folk tradition to international spectacle.
