druids
Ancient oak-venerating clergy
Druids are members of the priestly class of ancient Celtic peoples, associated with nature worship, oak groves, and sacred rituals.
Modern druids belong to neo-pagan movements that revive or reimagine these traditions: The druids gathered at Stonehenge for the summer solstice.
In fantasy games and fiction, druids are magic users with power over nature and animals. (Capitalized Druids emphasizes the historical priesthood.)
