bouzouki
Hellenic stringed instrument
A bouzouki is a Greek stringed instrument with a long neck and a round body, similar to a mandolin but larger.
It has a bright, metallic tone and is central to Greek folk music, particularly rebetiko.
The instrument typically has three or four pairs of strings played with a plectrum: The bouzouki player led the taverna band.
