Greek yogurt
Thick cultured milk
Greek yogurt is yogurt that has been strained to remove most of its whey, resulting in a thicker, creamier texture and higher protein content than regular yogurt.
It works well as a substitute for sour cream or mayonnaise: I use Greek yogurt in my smoothies.
The name suggests Mediterranean origin, though most commercial Greek yogurt is produced domestically.
