ostracism
Deliberate group exclusion
Ostracism is exclusion from a group or community, whether formal or informal.
Ancient Athens practiced literal ostracism—citizens voted to banish someone for ten years.
The modern sense is social: She faced ostracism after the scandal.
To be ostracized is to be shut out, ignored, treated as if you don't exist.
