Ares
Greek god, battle
Ares is the Greek god of war, known for his aggressive and bloodthirsty nature.
Unlike Athena, who represented strategic warfare, Ares embodied the brutal, violent aspects of battle.
He was generally despised by the other Olympian gods.
In Roman mythology, his counterpart is Mars.
The name appears in references to warfare and conflict: an Ares-like fury. (Lowercase ares is the plural of the metric unit are.)
