transcriptions
Copied spoken words
Transcriptions are written or printed representations of something originally in another form.
Most commonly, a transcription converts spoken words into text: court reporters produce transcriptions of legal proceedings, and researchers transcribe interviews for analysis.
In music, a transcription adapts a composition for different instruments than originally intended.
The term also applies in biology, where transcription is the process by which genetic information in DNA is copied to RNA.
