positioner
Thing that locates
A positioner is a device or mechanism that moves something into a specific location or orientation.
The term appears most often in technical contexts: a welding positioner rotates workpieces, an antenna positioner aims a dish.
In manufacturing and robotics, positioners provide precise, repeatable placement: The robotic positioner aligned each component within a fraction of a millimeter.
