stop valve
Pipe flow controller
A stop valve is a valve that controls or shuts off the flow of liquid or gas through a pipe.
Unlike valves designed primarily to regulate flow, a stop valve is meant to completely halt it when needed: Turn off the stop valve before replacing the faucet.
Most household plumbing includes stop valves near fixtures for emergency shutoff or repair access.
