Tension support cable
A guy wire is a tensioned cable that anchors and stabilizes a tall structure—a radio tower, tent pole, or mast.
Guy wires run diagonally from the structure to the ground or another fixed point, preventing sway or collapse.
Often shortened to guy: The tent's guys came loose in the wind.
