guy

Casual term, male

A guy is a man or fellow: Some guy called for you.

In the plural, guys has become a casual address for any group regardless of gender: Hey guys, what's going on?

To guy something is to secure it with ropes or wires—guy wires stabilize tents, towers, and masts.

The word also means to mock or ridicule, though this sense is rare outside British English. (Capitalized Guy is a given name.)
