gun turret
Swiveling weapon platform
A gun turret is a rotating armored structure housing one or more guns, typically mounted on warships, tanks, or aircraft.
The turret allows weapons to be aimed in multiple directions while protecting the gunners inside: The battleship's main gun turrets could rotate 360 degrees.
Fixed fortifications also use turrets for defensive firepower.
