enfilade
Gunfire along ranks
Enfilade is a military term for gunfire directed along the length of a target, such as a trench or column of troops, so that a single shot can strike multiple targets in sequence.
The term also describes the vulnerable position itself: The troops were caught in enfilade.
In architecture, enfilade refers to a suite of rooms aligned so their doorways create a single line of sight through all of them.
