rate of fire
Rounds per minute
Rate of fire is how quickly a weapon can discharge rounds, typically measured in rounds per minute.
The term applies mainly to automatic and semi-automatic firearms: The M60 has a rate of fire of about 550 rounds per minute.
A higher rate of fire means more bullets downrange but also faster ammunition depletion and more heat buildup.
