groove
Channel or rut
A groove is a long, narrow channel cut or worn into a surface: the grooves on a vinyl record, grooves in wood for joining pieces.
Figuratively, a groove is a settled routine: stuck in a groove.
In music, groove means a compelling rhythmic feel that makes you want to move: The band found their groove.
To groove is to enjoy something thoroughly or move rhythmically: We were grooving to the music.
