Dancing with pleasure
Grooving is moving rhythmically to music, usually with evident pleasure: We were grooving to the DJ's set all night.
More broadly, it means hitting a comfortable stride or enjoying something thoroughly: I'm really grooving on this new project.
The word carries a relaxed, pleasurable connotation inherited from groove, which in jazz slang meant a state of effortless musical flow.
