Overhead support structure
A gantry is a bridge-like overhead structure that spans something below.
The word applies to frameworks supporting equipment: a gantry crane moves loads along rails, a rocket gantry provides access and support before launch, and highway gantries hold signs or cameras above traffic lanes.
