floor stand
Freestanding vertical support
A floor stand is a freestanding support designed to rest on the floor and hold something at a convenient height—a microphone, lamp, sign, tablet, or display.
Unlike wall-mounted or tabletop versions, floor stands are self-supporting and portable: She adjusted the floor stand so the mic was at mouth level.
The term sometimes appears as a single word: floorstand.
