Pushed through mold
Extrusion is the process of forcing material through a shaped opening to create objects with a uniform cross-section—like squeezing toothpaste from a tube or pushing pasta dough through a die.
The term applies in manufacturing (extruded aluminum, extruded plastic), cooking, and 3D printing.
An extrusion is also the object produced: The factory makes aluminum extrusions for window frames.
