freezing
Turning to ice
Freezing is the temperature at which water turns to ice—32°F or 0°C—and by extension, any temperature cold enough to feel painfully cold: It's freezing in here.
As an adjective, it describes extreme cold: freezing rain, freezing winds.
The verb freeze covers the process of becoming solid through cold, or becoming motionless: She froze when she heard the noise.
