die casting
Forced metal shaping
Die casting is a manufacturing process in which molten metal is forced under high pressure into a mold cavity, then allowed to cool and solidify into a precise shape.
The molds, called dies, are typically made of hardened steel and can be reused thousands of times, making die casting efficient for mass production of metal parts.
Components made this way appear in everything from car engines to door handles to toy cars.
The housing was produced by die casting for dimensional accuracy.
