extrusions

Material forced through

Extrusions are things that have been pushed or forced out through an opening.

In manufacturing, extrusions are materials—typically metal, plastic, or food—shaped by forcing them through a die: aluminum extrusions for window frames, pasta extrusions.

In geology, extrusions are rock formations created when molten material pushes through the earth's surface.

The word can also describe anything that protrudes or bulges outward.
