drumline

Band's rhythm section

A drumline is the percussion section of a marching band, typically arranged in a line formation during performances.

The term refers both to the group of drummers and to the music they play—heavy on snares, bass drums, and cymbals.

Drumlines perform intricate, synchronized rhythms and are central to halftime shows and drum corps competitions: The drumline brought the crowd to its feet.
