parade float
Decorated rolling platform
A parade float is a decorated platform or vehicle designed to move through streets as part of a parade.
Floats typically carry performers, displays, or themed decorations and are pulled by trucks or tractors hidden beneath elaborate facades.
The Mardi Gras float tossed beads to the crowd.
The name comes from early floats that were actually barges floated down rivers.
