pep band
Halftime brass ensemble
A pep band is a small musical ensemble that plays at sporting events to energize the crowd and support the home team.
Unlike formal marching bands, pep bands typically sit in the stands and play fight songs, popular tunes, and rhythmic chants during breaks in play: The pep band struck up the fight song after every touchdown.
