Platoon's smaller part
A squad is a small group of people working together, originally and still commonly a military unit of soldiers under a single leader.
The term extends to police units, sports teams, and any coordinated group: The bomb squad arrived within minutes.
In casual use, especially among younger speakers, squad refers to one's close friend group: I'm going out with my squad tonight.
Squad goals describes an achievement or lifestyle that a friend group aspires to.
