drumlin

Ice-sculpted ridge

A drumlin is an elongated, oval-shaped hill formed by glacial activity, with its long axis parallel to the direction of ice flow.

Drumlins typically have a steeper slope on the side that faced the advancing glacier and a gentler slope on the lee side.

They often appear in groups called drumlin fields: The landscape of central New York is dotted with drumlins.
