t-bone

Hit from side

A t-bone is a cut of beef steak containing a T-shaped bone with meat on both sides—tenderloin on one, strip steak on the other.

The name extends to a type of collision where one vehicle strikes another at a right angle, forming a T shape: The truck t-boned the sedan at the intersection.

As a verb, to t-bone is to hit something broadside this way.
