Flip
Samsung's folding smartphone
Flip captures a quick, light motion that turns something over or through the air.
You flip a coin, flip a pancake, flip through pages, flip a switch.
A flip is also a backward somersault.
To flip out is to lose emotional control—from excitement or anger.
Someone who is flip speaks in a dismissive or disrespectfully casual way: Don't be flip with me.
The flip side is the reverse—originally the B-side of a record, now any alternative perspective.
