Trojans

Defenders of Ilium

Trojans were the inhabitants of Troy, the ancient city besieged by Greeks in Homer's Iliad.

The term extends to athletic teams using the name, most notably the University of Southern California Trojans: The Trojans play their home games at the Coliseum.

A Trojan horse is any deceptive stratagem that gains entry under false pretenses. (Lowercase trojans are malicious computer programs.)
