Southern California
Pacific coast region
Southern California is the southern portion of California, generally including Los Angeles, San Diego, and the surrounding counties.
The region is associated with warm weather, beaches, entertainment industry, and car culture.
Often shortened to SoCal: I'm moving to SoCal next month.
The boundary with Northern California is imprecise but usually placed somewhere around the Tehachapi Mountains or San Luis Obispo.
