Cassandra
Doubted ancient oracle
Cassandra was a Trojan princess in Greek mythology cursed by Apollo to prophesy truly but never be believed.
Her name has become a byword for those who warn of coming troubles but are dismissed: He played Cassandra, predicting the housing crash years before it happened.
The name is also used as a given name for women.
In computing, Apache Cassandra is a distributed database system. (Lowercase cassandra is the generic term for an unheeded prophet.)
