Mars
Fourth from sun
Mars is the fourth planet from the sun, known for its reddish appearance caused by iron oxide on its surface.
In Roman mythology, Mars was the god of war, equivalent to Greek Ares.
The planet's name comes from this deity, and Mars still carries associations with warfare and aggression in astrology and cultural references: Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. (Lowercase mars means to damage or spoil.)
