college
Degree-granting institution
College has different meanings in different English-speaking countries, but its commonest meaning designates an institution of learning, usually one for post-secondary education: He’ll attend college in the fall.
Occasionally, college designates people who come together for a specific, and usually specified purpose, as the Electoral College, which elects the U.S. president and vice president.
