Old Testament
Bible's first half
The Old Testament is the first part of the Christian Bible, comprising texts that Christians share with Judaism (where they form the Hebrew Bible or Tanakh).
It includes Genesis, Exodus, the Psalms, and prophetic books, covering creation, Jewish law, and Israel's history.
Christians read it as preparation for the New Testament; Jews consider it scripture complete in itself.
