Sunday schools
Weekend religious education
Sunday schools are religious education programs for children, typically held on Sunday mornings before or after church services.
The classes teach Bible stories, moral lessons, and denominational doctrine.
Though associated with Christianity, similar programs exist in other faiths: She taught Sunday school for twenty years.
The term sometimes appears as a single word: a Sunday-school teacher.
